Pure, unadulterated, chaos. That’s New York City on a normal day! But tonight, only one of two times a year that the city experiences Manhattanhenge, when the setting sun perfectly aligns with the East-West Streets, New York really turned the crazy up a notch.

Bastille Day is the 14th July, but in NYC they like to celebrate it the Sunday before hand. So yesterday I ventured into Boerum Hill in Brooklyn for the annual street fair. The highlight being the Pétanque Tournament, with a beach worth of sand dumped on Smith Street and teams fighting it out for top honors.

The New York Transit Museum is a pretty fascinating place. The Museum itself is located in the decommissioned Court Street subway station in Downtown Brooklyn. Built in 1936 it only lasted until 1946 when it was abandoned due to lack of traffic. However it is still a fully functioning line, and that’s what is fascinating as the Museum shunts in and out historical subway cars from the last century.
